Alice Pearl Knickerbocker

January 1, 1910 — April 16, 2010

Alice Pearl Knickerbocker, 100, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Friday afternoon, April 16, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas. She was born on January 1, 1910 in Coldwater, Michigan, the daughter of Berry and Belle (Miner) Robinson. Alice was a registered nurse and worked for Dr. Lynn Beal until he retired. She was then the school nurse for USD 484 for many years. She was also a recruiter for Independence Community College. Alice was married to Charles Knickerbocker on July 10, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1953. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Daughter"s of the American Revolution. She had also been a member of the Wilson County Historical Society and the Business and Professional Women"s Club. Alice is survived by: Two sons: Joe Knickerbocker of Independence, KS David Knickerbocker of Neodesha, KS Five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, William Knickerbocker and one grandson, Keith Knickerbocker. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Wilson of the First Presbyterian Church of Independence officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Monday evening, 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Alice"s name with the Wilson County Historical Society and may be sent to the funeral home.
