Sandra Lee Ballew

Sandra L. Ballew, 74 of independence, Kansas passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Sandra Lee Ballew was born August 5, 1943 in Independence, Kansas the daughter of Ansel Jerome Smith and Juanita (Wright) Smith. She grew up in Independence and graduated from Independence High School in 1963.

On September 4, 1974 in Independence she was united in marriage to James Robert Ballew and he survives at the home.

Sandra worked at Standard Motors in Independence and retired after working many years.

She enjoyed watching television and talking on the phone. She will be remembered for being a good wife, mother and grandmother.

Sandra also attended Independence Community College.

She was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Independence.

Survivors include her husband, James of the home, daughters, Marcy Ballew of Independence, Kansas, Rhonda Holt of Independence, Kansas, siblings, Sam Smith of Coffeyville, Kansas, Zolla Wright of Dearing, Kansas, Myrna Padley of Independence, Kansas, Raymond Smith of Coffeyville, Kansas and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at New Life Baptist Church.
