Lawrence R. Cretcher

Lawrence R. Cretcher, 87, of Cherryvale, Kansas died Friday, May 11, 2018 from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident south of Cherryvale.

Lawrence Richard Cretcher was born October 4, 1930 at Columbus, Ohio the son of Paul Donald Cretcher and Mable Mary (Mustaine) Cretcher. He attended and graduated from North Lewisburg High in 1950. He later attended Ohio State University.

On May 5, 1956 in Dayton, Ohio he was united in marriage to Agnes Imagene Gross and she survives at the home.

Lawrence was employed with the United State Postal Service as a letter carrier and later retired. He later worked at K-Mart in Independence until it closed. He also work as a care giver with Four County Mental Health and was a Farmer.

He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He also loved working on the farm and doing 4-H events.

Lawrence attended First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale.

Survivors include his wife of the home, children, Richard Cretcher (Jan) of Cherryvale, Kansas, Cathy Carnahan (Jerry) of Mound Valley, Kansas, brothers, Joe Cretcher of South Carolina, Fuller Cretcher of Cherryvale, Kansas, grandchildren, Caitlyn Carnahan, Nate Carnahan and McClain Cretcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald and sisters, Adria and Doris.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 18, 2018 at First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to the First Southern Baptist Church and they may be mailed or left at the funeral home.
