Obituary for John F. Stose

John Frederick Stose, age 67, of Cherryvale Kansas, passed away due to an accident on July 29th, 2017. John was born on December 3, 1949 in Toledo Ohio to Lester and Charlotte Stose.

He graduated Bowsher High School in Toledo Ohio in 1967. John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with the bronze star medal for meritorious achievements.

After his military service John started his professional truck driving career in 1973. John drove professionally for Farmland from 1979 until their close in 2003. John continued his driving career with Cenex Harvest States (CHS) from 2003 until he retired in 2015.

John received several truck driving awards which included driving over 2 million miles without a recordable accident.

After retirement John joined the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and was recently accepted into the patriot guard in July 2017. John was an avid hunter, motorcyclist, and grandpa (popa). John was preceded in death by his father Lester.

He leaves behind his son Samuel Stose and wife Jamie, their children Sadie and Kara of Bartlesville Oklahoma, son Abel Stose and wife Jessica, and their son Wyatt of Miami Oklahoma, sister Jayne Fifer, brother Joseph, brother James, their mother Charlotte of Ohio, and longtime girlfriend Terri McConnell of Cherryvale Kansas, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

John and Terri attended the Liberty United Methodist Church in Liberty Kansas. John had a positive impact on everyone that knew him and will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 4, 2017 at Liberty United Methodist Church, Liberty, Kansas with Pastor Bill Booe, officiating.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
