James H. SayreJames "Jim" H. Sayre, 86, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Wilson County Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas.James "Jim" was born December 28, 1930 in Cherryvale to Virgil and Helen (Royer) Sayre.He graduated in 1949 from Labette County High School in Altamont. He served in the Air Force for two years.Jim was an avid bowler.He worked in the oilfields with his stepdad Russell McMath. He also worked for Dewey Auto Store in Cherryvale and Owens Plumbing in Parsons.Jim was a member of the Christian Church in Mound Valley and attended the First Baptist Church of Cherryvale.On September 1, 1962 he was united in marriage to Lillian (Wilson) Waller and she survives at the home.Other survivors include daughter, Peggy LeAnn Ayers and her husband Terry of Pineville, Missouri, two grandsons, Casey Ayers of Pineville, Missouri and James Ayers and his wife Laura of Bella Vista, Arkansas, several cousins and a host of friends.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 16, 2017 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas with Brett Dietrich, officiating.The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until service time on Monday at the funeral home.Memorial remembrances are suggested to St. Jude Children"s Hospital and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
